Well, we are off!! Already we have met several fellow pilgrims and are realizing the broad spectrum of people who are on the same journey. While we each seek a different outcome, aspects of walking the Way are the same.
The path from St. Jean Pied de Port leads over the Pyrenees. No way around them if you are to reach Roncesvalles in Spain, the first overnight on the journey. Excitement builds as we line up for take off. Airborne. On the way!

Overnight flight to Madrid…new flight to Pamplona. Left Atlanta 9/10 @ 6:15 pm, arrived Pamplona 9/11/23 @ 1:45pm. Somewhere in there we missed a night.
Great Spanglish convo with our taxi driver! Found Correos (post office) so we can ship our extra bags to Santiago, and bought bus tickets to St. Jean Pied de Port for tomorrow… all set!
Then enjoyed walking around old town Pamplona, resting, and eating dinner.
