12.8 Miles
One of the most pleasant walks as we move further into Galicia, which is more verdant with rolling hills and pastures bordered by low stone walls and hedgerows.
Soon after leaving town, after a lovely climb through tree-lined lanes with awesome views, we reached a high point called San Roque. There is a large pilgrim statue there looking out over Galicia with it mountains and deep valleys.

Small Communities
In addition to the larger towns, we walked through many small farming villages. Livestock (cows) are very big in Galicia. Walking through the villages can be challenging as the cows also walk through them. It becomes a bit of an obstacle course!
We had gone through one of these, and were continuing down the lane in between pastures, when we became aware of considerable noise behind us. We looked back to see a large bull being moved into a different pasture via the lane! He was being herded by 2 people and 2 dogs. As he got near to the pasture (full of cows) he broke unto a run and had to be chased down and brought under control. We tried to just stay out of the way! When the Gate was opened, he took off running and bellowing…ready to go!

Country Lanes
We walked mostly down country lanes today. So nice compared to walks alongside a highway or main road. Some of these were deeply set between stone walls, or in between pastures of grazing cows. We rolled along with the rolling hillls…beautiful!
Triacastela
Great dinner of peppers al Perdon (both Dale and I got a hot one!), grilled scallops in the shell, asparagus salad, and cheeses. Great Day!!
