Working our way back to the hills was a delight, as was walking some of that way with our friend, Beverly. A great hotel, dinner, and rest!
Astorga to Rabanal del Camino
A relatively easy day with beautiful weather, scenery, and a wonderful place to stay. Great dinner and visiting with friends!
Rabanal del Camino to Molinaseca
Emotional day as we attained the highest point on the Camino, laid our rocks at the Iron Cross and faced a strenuous descent into town.
Molinaseca to Villafranca
Our longest day on the Camino…over 30k, and reaching the foothills of the mountains we’ll be climbing in Galicia.
Villafranca to O’Cebreiro
Another long day, 18 miles, and I could only walk about two-thirds. Dale made the terribly hard ascent at the end up 2,000 ft. over 7 km.
O’Cebreiro to Triacastela
Simply wonderful day, starting off under the stars and crescent moon, on country lanes over rolling hills and through forest paths.
Triacastela to Sarria
An exceptionally beautiful day walking through woodlands and small villages. Magnificent scenery all around us!
Sarria to Portomarin
Dale walked bravely through the wind and rain, down steep declines, through more beautiful country! I caught a bad cold and decided it was best to keep my germs to myself!
Portomarin to Palas de Rei
Dale meets a new friend, a Knight Templar, and a herd of cows, on his journey under mostly cloudy skies. Diane is back on the road tomorrow.
Palas de Rei to Ribadiso
Super-early start, drizzly rain most of the day, two good walking companions, and six rivers to cross. Plus a great dinner at the end if it.
